I received a letter through the post the other week from Oxfam and it put a big smile on my face. I filled several bags with clothes I hadn’t worn in an age and was unlikely to wear in the future, bric a bric and other bits and pieces and donated them to my local Oxfam charity shop. The letter informed me that my donations had raised some serious dosh for one of my favourite causes.
If you’d also like to raise some dollar for Oxfam and have a bit of a de-clutter, pop into your local Oxfam charity shop with some donations and if you’re a UK tax payer you can Gift Aid your donations. You’ll be given a unique number to tag your bag with which makes everything you donate to Oxfam worth 25% more. Not bad ey!
I would imagine most other charity shops run a similar Gift Aid donation scheme and it’s a fantastic way to raise some cash for your favourite charities, de-clutter your home and wardrobe and feel good in the process.
